Since exploring Catholicism, I’ve been researching a new Bible (no complaints here). These are three options:

On this journey of church unity, I began learning about the “extra books” in some Bibles several years ago.

Then I got invited to talk about the “deuterocanonical books” on this Ancient Faith Radio Show. What an honor!

Thanks for your kinds words in reaching out about my political posts last week. Like you, I seek to apply my Christianity to my political approach, and often fall back on the idea of hope. Here, some great thoughts on hope, compared to optimism and expectation.

It’s not Advent yet. It’s certainly not Christmas yet. Here’s a Winter Playlist that felt just right.

If you’ve spent any time here at all, you know when I mention colder weather, I start dreaming of soups.
Great Bible choices, Traci. I have the Great Adventure Bible and I really like it - interesting way to read it, too, in that Jeff Cavins chooses only the "historical" books, rather than all the books, but does include them as additional resources. You might also enjoy his book, written with Dr. Tim Gray of the Augustine Institute, "Walking With God", which is a narrative story of the Great Adventure premise. I enjoyed reading it. You might want to look at the Little Rock Catholic Study Bible, too; it's very good and a great reference/resource.
I love your soup choices! I will be trying both.
Blessings on your Advent Journey, Traci!
