On the face of it, Leviticus 23 is a summary of the festivals that, via Moses, the Lord has commanded the Israelites to observe. The chapter telescopes outward—from the fundamental, weekly observance of the Sabbath, to the lineup of great feasts that mark the Jewish year, Passover on through Yom Kippur.
