7 Things → Unbiblical practices, Tradition, Apostolic Succession, Catechism, Pentecost
Final (for now) set of responses to common misconceptions about Catholicism. I've learned about these things over a number of years, and am still learning.
ONE
The theologically correct response to the common argument that Catholics believe things not in the Bible is this: Which Bible? Allow me to explain by starting with a look at the idea of “sola scriptura.”
TWO
I wrote about these apocryphal, or deuterocanonical, books several years ago now.
THREE
To better understand some Catholic practices, the ideas of Tradition and Apostolic Succession (lots of discussion could be had around this one) has to be part of the conversation.
FOUR
The concept of written and oral tradition has its roots in Judaism.
FIVE
In addition, I’ve learned the Catholic Catechism is a big deal, and am slowly making my way through this.
SIX
Happy Pentecost Sunday to all of us! Praise God for the Holy Spirit.
SEVEN
Here’s a wonderful children’s book on the Day When God Made Church.
Did you know that the Bible Project is doing a series on the "apocryphal" books right now?
