7 Things → Summer Poetry, Album Projects, Biblical Fiction
In which I pull a variety of faith articles for your perusal.
ONE
A whole list of classic summer poems.
TWO
A blast from my past, this band has a new album out.
THREE
I’m excited about this project with Malcolm Guite, see #7, and illustrator, Ned Bustard.
FOUR
I’m reviewing a book on Tamar, daughter of David, now. Ahoti is a well-written historical fiction book, but I’ve taken to calling books like this biblical fiction.
FIVE
Here’s another example (a favorite author). They take stories from Scripture, but at times not much is known from scripture itself, so the author expands on the story in a what that honors the story, and when available, pull from extra-biblical resources.
SIX
It makes for a unique read. And one more example:
SEVEN
A summer poem benediction.
Thanks for sharing about *Ahoti*--that sounds right up my alley, and I have always had a special place in my heart for Tamar. (Both biblical Tamars actually.)
Speaking of biblical fiction, did you ever get a chance to read my *Favored One*?
